CANADA / PRIVATE LAUNCH PLANNING

Local relationships.
A regional launch.

A proposed Western Canada launch for MT E.L.K., INC.: support regional distributors, equip retail teams, and build a pilot around education and repeat orders.

My Field Guide →

Planning draft • No Canadian partners or exclusive territories are confirmed here. Commercial terms require approval.

WESTERN CANADA FIRST

Prove the route
to the retailer.

British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba form the initial planning area. Match each partner’s coverage to the retail accounts they actually serve, their stocking capacity, and their ability to teach the calls. Province boundaries are a discussion starting point, not assigned territories.

MT E.L.K., INC. manufactures the calls. Regional distributors supply retailers, and retailers serve hunters.

Regional distributor

Supplies other retail businesses, holds stock, replenishes orders, and supports store teams. Ask for a verified retailer network and a practical delivery plan.

Dealer / retailer

Sells to hunters. A chain that supplies only its own stores is a retail account; that alone does not establish a wholesale distribution network.

Why begin regionally?

The chosen approach lets us test local coverage and support before expanding. Revisit a national partner only when demonstrated coverage and operating capacity justify it.

PROPOSED FIRST ASSORTMENT

Start focused.
Teach it well.

The recovered Canada presentation centers on deer calling. Confirm availability and opening quantities before committing to a pilot.

PILOT QUANTITY PLANNER

Plan the opening stock.

Illustrative quantities only. The earlier example used eight calls and five band packs; guide quantities are optional. This does not submit an order or calculate pricing or demand.

BEFORE AN AGREEMENT

Confirm the operating details.

Pricing, currency, and opening budget

Confirm Canadian distributor pricing, invoice currency, payment requirements, and minimum quantities. The earlier launch draft proposed a US$5,000 opening threshold; it is a proposal awaiting approval, not a current offer.

Territory and account coverage

Document serviced retailers, gaps, and overlapping accounts. Discuss performance expectations before any exclusivity commitment.

Stock, freight, and imports

Agree who holds stock, who imports the goods, who arranges freight, and who handles customs charges and returns. Use the official CBSA commercial importing guide when preparing the import process.

Support and replenishment

Confirm the support contact, training plan, replenishment lead times, warranty and returns terms, and handling of replacement bands.

PILOT → REVIEW → EXPANSION

Measure stocked stores.
Then measure reorders.

  1. Verify retailer accounts and regional coverage.
  2. Agree on samples, assortment, quantities, and commercial responsibilities.
  3. Train store teams and ship the approved opening stock.
  4. Review stocked locations, sell-through where reported, replenishment, and support needs.
  5. Expand coverage based on documented results.

Track prospects, approved partners, first orders, stocked retail locations, and reorders separately. A claimed network is not the same as active distribution.
